Does anyone use these in their tank for colourful displays at night when the main lights turn off?

I used my pond lights one winter in my 150 gallon african tank and I could never really get a nice look with them and the fish seemed to hate them so I pulled them out and mounted one under my canopy with a blue filter and it finally looked nice. A year later I got the same effect by using one of those cheapo 30" single bulb fluorescent lights with an oceanic bulb (the one that looks like moonlight) FYI, the pond lights give off more of a spotlight effect as opposed to the look of the 24" fluorescent blub that looked much more real after dark |
