Default just set up my tank for africans

hi i just setup my tank for african cichlids and i have lots of rocks in my
tank and i was just wondering about getting plants. I was thinking if i do
get plants the cichlids will destroy them, should i get plastic plants or
real plants..
any advice would be great guys...

It depends which African Cichlids you are getting. There are thousands
of species. Some eat plants, some dig them up, some ignore them and
some live among plants. Which ones are you getting?

hi, I have a tank abundantly planted with java fern and other plants. my
guys do not eat it at all. there are certain plants that they won't eat. my
guys seem to have been trained to a certain extent not to eat my plants,
because I started off with a couple of plants that we call "spath" in
Australia, it's very inedible, and from that they now see all plants as
inedible I think.
