Let's see... Texas to Alamagordo when I was tiny.. Alamagordo back to Texas
when I was 6.. and many moons later I moved back here with my family just 9
years ago this June. We are a bit NW of Albuquerque. I'd rather be back in
Texas. It sucks here.

i know you say you don't care for where you are, but i have to tell you i have
fond memories of the alamagordo area....my family used to go to white sands
there and i would get "blinded" from the brightness playing on the dunes. i
would take a cardboard box and use it as a type of sled and sit on it going
down the dunes. again..that was many years ago, but i do have fond memories of
new mexico. i keep telling my wife i would like to take her to see carlsbad
caverns, although i have heard it is very commercial now.
what size tank do you have? what do you have in it?
i keep a 55 with fish only in it. i've actually gotten pretty bored with it as
i've max'd out the tank and haven't been able to add anything for sometimes.
take care.

It's a 55 also.. about 35 or so pounds of live rock, two yellow tail damsels
and a clown.. (yesyesyes... we got it after going to see finding Nemo, lol)
a bunch of very prolific polyps of some kind, little individual ones, no
they aren't aiptasia or anything bad.. been there done that too though.. one
tennis ball sized *glob* of something the store called *tube* polyps... and
a huge ricordia and it's little baby now about the size of a pencil eraser.
A few hermits and a snail. Spot the clownfish will be getting a friend soon,
and I want a yellow tang. It's just slow going with the tank. I'd love a
full blown reef set-up but can't afford the lighting at the moment and I am
still wondering how the polyps and ricordia are doing so well with just the
NO flourescents.. Maybe because they are coralife bulbs they are doing
better than if they were just plain old plant lights..

And we love White Sands. I don't recall ever going as a child but my kids
love it down there. They have a couple round plastic saucer sleds to sled
down the dunes. The caverns themselves are great.. gift shops and all like
you find at all the National Parks and monuments.. if you go though, don't
stay in that silly little town they call White's City.. THAT is the touron
trap of the universe, lol.

"...but *the* Gulf Coast could be anywhere..."

It couldn't be in the middle of South Dakota! Let me narrow my criteria

for
the Gulf Coast to from Florida to Louisiana.

Think there's a Gulf Coast Florida... but *the* Gulf Coast could be
anywhere, lol.. I am from the *Texas Gulf* coastal area around

Galveston..
*from*... not there now... sigh.. I currently sit in the middle of the
freaking New Mexico desert. Somehow 103 temps is easier to take when

you've
got all that water around.. What a MAJOR jolt!! Which is one reason I

have
my bit of the ocean in a tank.. I miss it.
