Default best way to rid mantis/pistol shrimps

Easier said then done!! I tried that didn't work, tried fresh water didn't
work, got mad started shaking the rock madley and guess what the mantis
shrimp came out and flew right by my face. Scared the living sh*t out of
me!!!

Put the rock in a small tank, on a shelf made of eggcrate (the stuff used

for a
light diffuser), and put something meaty in the corner of the tank. The

mantis
will crawl out to get the food. Pull out your rock and the mantis will be
trapped in the aquarium.

Repeat as necessary.
