Default lighting for 180

over on RC I posted this question and got a recommendation that HQI (double
ended bulb)250's give the equivalent light of 400 mogul based
bulbs..........any truth to it?

and what/who makes the best reflector for the HQI's.

24.5 x 24.5 x 72.5 and the clams will be on the bottom sitting on the

DSB.
I have read and read and all points to 250w MH being well suited for up

to
36" deep, but like I said I am a little skeptical to say the least.

the 250 would be nice as far as heat and cost.

thanks
kc

250's will do you good, everything will grow, if you want to propigate you

can toss 1000W
on, or raise things up some stony corals will be a different color, but

still good
looking, asuming you would put them 20" down which I wouldnt do

what it comes down to is neither is too much, but your 75 didnt require

400's not that it
doesnt look real good , for a while I ran my 2 250's on my 37 lotsa

light is coooool
but now I am back down to 1 175 and nothing is growing slower than before

I slightly disagree with 36" for a 250, but only slightly and your at 24 -

DSB or even
just a thin sb so you will do fine.you will need minimum 3 bulbs, and

your 4 covers that
