Hey Tom, went out to check mine, have a few question for ya,
first, assuming the barrel is also 2 feet across at the top as well, tee hee, where are your plumbing connections at the top of the barrell or at the bottom? Reason for asking is if they are at the top your lighthouse will need to be bigger around than 2 feet at 5 feet high to give you room for plumbing connections, had this problem myself which is why it needed to be 10' tall, would have looked like a fat triangle at 7 feet, kinda squatty looking, figured than one out the hard way. But anyway the basic setup for a side board is the bottom of the board is generally 2 times bigger than the top, in other words, 1 of my boards is 8 ft long and 12" wide at the bottom and 6" at the top, I have 8 of those that make up the sides. The bottom width of the lighthouse is 30". At five foot it is only 18" across, and 12" at the top. If you make the sides 8' tall your boards would need to be 16" at the bottom and 8" at the top assuming you have all your plumbing in the bottom of the barrel, if not we will need to go a little wider on each board to compensate for pipes and such. At 16 and 8 though your bottom would be approx 40" (and 24" at 5' tall) and (16" at the top) You would then need to cut a 16 inch octagon for the crown to sit on. Let me know if these figures will work for ya, if not we'll refigure, no problem....Claude Note on my filter, about 8 inches of my barrel is actually below ground and my lighthouse actually sits on 2 or 3 layers of retaining wall stone to raise it up for the width problem, so the barrel didn't come up so high into the lighthouse......It's always something....fortunately there usually a work around... "claude rogers" wrote in message ... Mine doesn't because the neighbors bedroom window is right beside the lighthouse and it would shine in the window so I didn't get that kind, it's just a regular 25w yellow bulb and socket. You can get that kind for around $50 "Tom La Bron" wrote in message ... Claude, Does the light rotate??? Tom L.L. ======================== "claude rogers" wrote in message ...
