Well, second off, are you familiar with the names Gale Sayer, or Gale
Gordon? , but don't take this wrong it's not a problem assuming I'm a woman, my mother apologizes non stop for naming me Gale - I got past that years ago - was a bit rough in the younger years, though ( oh yeah - memories of 8 - 12 yrs old!!) - so how's that 12 inch carp :~))))))))) Gale :~) LOL. Well first off, I am happy a woman made that joke and not a guy. And secondly, I won't touch that one with a 12 inch Carp for fear of not being able to stop. -- BV. www.iheartmypond.com |

no, it is his bumping that stimulates her muscles to contract and push the eggs out.
those eggs gotta be fertilized immediately or they die. sometimes a female GF is picked up and the eggs will just pour out of her. so a male isnt always necessary. But are the eggs fertilized by the "old in and out" as Kubrick would say, or
are they fertilized in the water? BV I can sure tell you weren't raised in or near salmon country, and/or any places that has fish farms where they fertilize the eggs by hand at hatcheries, showing it on the news. In fact, I think some koi breeders also do it by hand. BV, you need to start watching more Discovery or Nature TV. Now last year I did have a female oranda lose her eggs on her own. I put her out in the lily pond and several days later there were unfertilized eggs (milky white) in the pond, so some can manage on their own.... ;o) ;o) ~ jan ~ jan (Do you know where your water quality is?) |

Ahhh - DeAnna wins the gold, but to be fair, I am sure I wouldn't have
remembered that, if it wasn't for the name connection Gale :~) "Pond Newbie" wrote in message ... Wasn't Gale Gordon the fellow who played Lucy's boss, Mr. Mooney, in her solo series?
