Yellow/green hyacinths: What is going on?

Seemed to help a bit, and had no effect on the fish that I can tell. BV. Hi, Fertilizing plants in the veggie filter? Why? Experimentation for one, and to help them along as my filter is very much oversized for my pond. BV.
