Mine was pretty shy in the 1st week, and is still not much seen as are my
Angels. But it will come out eventually.

He spent most of the day yesterday inside the castle. Got home this evening
to find him out and about. I wondered if he'd come out when he got hungry!

Yeah, everything seems fine now.

Cheers.

Just one other thing (and I think I probably already know the answer to
this) - would it be inadvisable to put a few minnows in with the Betta? It
is a 5 U.S. gallon tank.

Thanks.

Hi All,
Yep I have had Betta's in a tank with other fish no problems. The only
thing is they do not like it when the PH level is messed around with.
I live in Australia and the highest PH level in ordinary tap water is
7.5. Which is high but not high enough where the fish won't eventually
adapt. So I do not add any PH additives to the water and all my fish
are fine. I only put in water Ager when I change a 1/4 of the tanks
water, this is so the clorine gets killed.
I recently had Zebra Danios, and found them to be quite noisy. They do
get on with other fish, but will bite/nip if left to long without a
feed.
At the moment I have Neons, the beautiful Rummy nose tetra's, Guppy's,
Gourami's and a couple of sucking fish, all in a 120litre tank. They
all get along no one is bossy and all are great schooling fish.
Cheers
