No, but since it was so close, and there *was* a question of the
accuracy of the pop vote, anyone who wanted Gore to win has a branch
to cling to, and tenacious they are. g

As oppossed to Dick Cheney who decieved Haliburton stock holders ot
"Presdident" Bush who uses the US Army to fulfill his personal vendeta
and to finish what daddy started. I put president in quotation because
Bush never won the election.

"He did win the popular vote."
doesn't matter. Like you mentioned, he won in the Electoral college; that
is ALL that matters... it keeps a bunch of a-holes in NY and CA from
picking the president.

Nice. I suggest you go find bigotry red-neck island and leave this group.

You haven't watched the news then.
They did do the recount, remember? He actually did win the popular vote...I
think it was only by 50 some votes, but that doesn't even matter because

the
Electoral college decides who's in.
I'm not saying it was good or bad for our country (Bush), but he did win.
Did everyone simply ignore that? He did win the popular vote.

I did a little research on the matter of "popular vote totals"...and I do have
a couple sites in my fav folder, so if anyone wants them, just ask. = )
The totals after the recount still had Bush over Gore.
Being so darn close, I don't blame Gore for wanting a recount. However, I
didn't like it when he wasn't satified and wanted them recounted again. That's
just being a baby and having a sissy fit.
That aside, I wanted to mention that the total I first talked about was the
total *after* the recount was stopped by the courts. Mr. Bush was considered
the Presidential winner, but Florida still recounted those ballots anyway. It
didn't matter that they didn't and it wouldn't change anything, they just
wanted to know for sure.
I can understand that too. I wanted to know as well.
After all of that counting, recounting, and then the re count of the recount
and addition of the counties that were told not to recount..the man (Bush)
still had more votes.
Not by much at all. However, he did actually win the popular vote.
Whether anyone thinks that's a good thing or a bad thing, that is their opinion
to have.
To each his own.
However, to say that he did not win the popular vote is simply false.

Do you always try to get rid of people who think differently than you
do "luminos." "Luminos" sounds related to lumination, to give light,
you might consider changing your name to "black out."

Without pointing any fingers or being political I would recommend to
everyone to read the Constitution of the United States. Also read the
writings of Jefferson and Franklin on this subject. They saw democracy
as the death of a country so created our Constitutional Republic. The
public vote (or mob rule) was never intended to elect our Federal
leaders. This way large population centers can not dictate what the
rest of the people, who they can't identify with, what to do. The only
change I would suggest would be "One state, One vote" and that would
take an act of congress and an amendment to the Constitution.

Popular votes are(were) delegated to local politics where the people
live and work and are(were) intended as such. The Constitution is very
specific on this point.
