Default trouble getting rec. ponds newsgroup mail

Hi;

I have always love reading the rec. ponds mail. Recently, my I.S.P. has
been having problems with newsgroups and I have not been able to read the
mail. I have called them several times to report this, but still can't
download the group. Is there some other way that I can access the rec.
ponds newsgroup?

THANKS

Use Google
http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=e...G=Search&meta=
Its not as good as having full access on USENET through an ISP but at
least you can access it this way!

Visit my website: http://www.frugalmachinist.com
Opinions expressed are those of my wife,
I had no input whatsoever.
Remove "nospam" from email addy.

Use Google
http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=e...G=Search&meta=

Astute readers ;-) may have noticed I used to post from google and
still do occasionally when I am in a hurry. Google groups is the heir
to deja, but there is also a newer group listing which is exclusive to
google http://groups-beta.google.com which may not replicate your
isp's newservice.
There are many other free newsservers which can be read through your
browser. Google will help you find one you like.

There are many where you can read, there don't seem to be many that let you
post.

As Roy, said you can always use Google, but I found that really awkward. I
finally found news.individual.net. They'll give you a free newsgroup
account - spam free groups, no binaries, no porn.

Just remember, if you use Google to post, be sure to register with an email
address you don't mind getting hit with hundreds of spam messages. When I
posted from Google groups several years ago, I didn't have a "junk" email
address and used my good one -- still having to deal with tons of spam
messages because of it. You can use a free yahoo, msn, hotmail (?), address,
then simply close that account when you no longer need it.

Also, when posting through your ISP, munge your address so it can't be
harvested by spam bots (add extra spaces, characters, words that cause the
address to fail).

You can go to google.com and read them there (select groups then .rec, etc)
they just don't display very well IMHO.
