Default Photos & Scans

I can't remember if I have ever asked this question in this particular
newsgroup before or not. I have a Hewlett-Packard e-scanner hooked up
to my Webtv unit and was wondering if I were to post scans/photos of my
fish, et cetera, in this newsgroup, would it be okay?~Dean.

If you mean actually attaching pics to your messages then posting them here,
then no its not ok. This is generally frowned upon within most newsgroups i
believe other than binaries. If you have the ability, it is better to post
your pics on a website and then post links.
Hope that helps

Plus the message will be filtered by many servers, so only a minor
proportion of readers will receive the image. I.e. I wouldn't. And
most of those who got it would probably treat it with suspicion and
not look at it, given the existence of malicious code hidden in jpeg
files.

If you have the ability, it is better to post
your pics on a website and then post links.

There are websites which allow you to post pictures for free, e.g.
PBase (www.pbase.com)

I think alt.binaries.aquaria would be the approprite place to post
pictures unless you are just providing a link to them. feel free to
post them under the members section of our webboard and link there
though
