I bought a small fighting conch for my micro-reef tank (20 gal). I do
not think this is big enough for the guy. He burrowed in immediately, and did not reappear for a month, when he surfaced and died. I was sad. He literally was on his back with his foot in the air. I read somewhere each one needs about 2' x 2' of sand to get enough to eat. Now my open-brain coral is looking sickly. Is it possible for a conch to damage live sand? |

Have you checked water parameters? Perhaps the conch corpse caused an ammonia spike before you removed it. |
