Do you recommend glass , metal, plastic, rubber or stone ?

Try welded steel.

Make your 10 gallon tank out of 3/4" thick plate and you will not have to
worry about bowing. Use 6010 rod unless you want to upscale to MIG.

To save money, only use the new transparent steel for the front piece.

Rust???.....I used transparent stainless steel for mine. Come on guys get with the program!!!
