Don't dose with Excel if you are using any kind of CO2. I lost a lot of fish some time back when I got the bright idea of suplimenting my CO2 with Excel. I don't do CO2. However, Seachem states that Excel is not incompatible with CO2. Perhaps it was something else that killed your fish? -- Victor M. I doubt Excel was a cause in the death of the fish, even at 2-3x the
rec dosings, I've not seen evidence of poor health and certainly not death with more sensitive fish than these. The perking up may be many things when you did the water change. You can use CO2 and Excel, not sure why you'd want to if you use the CO2 properly in the first place though....... Some folks do nto provide enough surface movement or add lots of CO2 and miss something esle the plants need to grow well and thus do not produce nearly as mucgh O2 as they might otherwise. You take care of the plants, they will take care of the fish just fine.
