I just added a yellow tang to my tank too! They are beautiful aren't
they? Mine hid and did not eat any prepared foods for approximately 2 days. Then I caught him grazing on some really cool looking fuzzy red algae I had growing. Key word - HAD. He devoured it. Every last bite. Then he started in on some deep maroon branching macro that is growing. By the end of day 3 he was eating my regular prepared fare. I did add formula 2 to the mixture. Formula 2 is prepared especially for algae eating fish because it is loaded with "greens." I also added green seaweed salad and nori to the offerings and he gladly grazed until they were gone. I soaked these in a little garlic and selcon also. Ray Martini wrote: Hi All: I added a beautiful yellow tang to my tank on Tuesday. He seems happy and swims about doing his thing. He's not eating yet however and this causes some concern. I have offered flakes, pellets, and of course green seaweed clipped inside the tank. Shows no interest in food really. Is he still adjusting to his new digs? Is this normal for a new tang? Thanks for any advice ... |
