Hi,
My tank had two deaths this week, both fish were almost 10 years old. A yellow Foxface and Acanthurus dussumieri "Tattoo". Their tank mates include a Yellow Tang (10 yrs ) , Sailfin Tang (10 yrs), Regal Tang( 9.9 yrs), Naso Tang(9.5 yrs) Sohal Tang (9.8 yrs) , Maroon Clown (9.5 yrs), yellow goby (9 yrs) and a Tusk (7 yrs). Because of their age, the fish have become part of the family and will be missed. "Tattoo" was not the most colorful fish, but he was a special fish. |

sorry bro , i think we all know the feeling of losing a prized fish or
one that just seemed to actually have personality. |

You are to be congratulated for having the skill and knowledge to
maintain your fish for nearly a decade. I have only been in the hobby for 4 years, and my longest lived fish (tomato clown) has been with me for 3 1/2 years. I find the 9.9 year old Regal Tang to be especially impressive since I have had great difficulty in getting one to survive for an extended period. |

The Regal Tang will be 10 the second week of March. Ten years ago, this
was my first sal****er aquarium. A big tank help. That first year, I made many mistakes, but I found 10 "super fish" that seem to be happy together. Foxface was not doing well for over a month before passing; "Tattoo" was not swim well one day and gone the next. The Regal Tang is called "Brazil", because I was writing a letter to a friend in Brazil when he went exploring... the floor. Lucky for fish, I heard the noise and returned him to the tank. |
