can I use existing filter, aerators, plants. gravel, etc, add the salt and
put in the sal****er fish? 55 gal tank, established fresh for about two years, good water chem levels, giving away all my fresh water friends to people whom I've helped set up tanks. |

you can, but its best not to. aerators cause salt creep and micro bubbles
in the tank, which are bad for fish and inverts. it helps to have a calcium based substrate to help buffer your water. I have used fresh water setup equipment back 20+ yrs ago with no problems but its much more stable and easier in the long run to do it right. hope to have helped. kc "Jim & Guyanne Valentine" wrote in message news:ap2kb.582565$cF.253482@rwcrnsc53... can I use existing filter, aerators, plants. gravel, etc, add the salt and put in the sal****er fish? 55 gal tank, established fresh for about two years, good water chem levels, giving away all my fresh water friends to people whom I've helped set up tanks. |
