Can someone explain to me how the three section Laguna filter is
supposed to work? This is the one with the bio material in one section, and a foam type filter in the second and third sections. My question is regarding the third section; furthest from the pump. This one does not seem to "filter" anything, while the middle section clogs up so fast I have to clean it every other day. Any comments on why this happens? |

Any comments on why this happens? Well, it's not really a 3 stage filter, both foam sections have pond water pass through them at the same time. The middle section does double filter some of the water from the end foam section. The middle section most likely filters more water than the end section as it is closer to the pump end, and thus gets more "suction" power than the end section. With mine, the 3rd section, or 2nd foam section, gets just as clogged up as the 2nd section, or 1st foam section. Once summer is here, I need to clean the filter weekly, more like every 5 days. What size pump you running? |
