Has anyone had problems with white spot on their fish. Would like to know
how to treat this as I also have corals and a clam alive in the tank and don't have a quarantine tank to separate them. Any help very much appreciated. |

Any help very much appreciated. I don't want to be mean, but if you don't have a quarantine tank and aren't quarantining new arrivals, then I personally feel that you aren't doing a good enough job of being a caretaker for your fish. Plenty of people who don't want to go through that much effort, who just want something pretty that they can enjoy probably won't like me for saying that. Too bad. These are living creatures. Creatures whose well-being you have taken responsibility for. Just because they aren't fuzzy and as personable as a puppy or kitten doesn't mean that the assumed responsiblity is any less. But enough of the rant, to the issue at hand. Read the series on marine ich at "Advanced Aquarist". All of the effective treatments involve multiple tanks as a part of the treatment protocol (transfer + cleaning) and/or to protect inverts. This means that you really need to spend some money on a quarantine/hospital tank or end up with all of your fish dead. I hope you make the right choices in the days to come. Regards, Ross -- Ross Bagley http://rossbagley.com/rba "Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature...
