DIY Reef food

I take just about any seafood, shrimp, scallops, etc., add some marine
fish
food flakes, and freeze it about 1/8" thick in a zip lock bag. Break off a
small piece and toss it in. The last time I made a batch I spent $8.00 for
the food and so far it has lasted 4 months. Don't over feed!

heard some stuff where you can get like shrimp and such and grind it up,
freeze it...and then just break it off in pieces and it will suffice the
community. Does anyone here have some mixes of there own that has been

I use one of those rubber molds to make fancy ice cubes ( sea shell shaped
of course) the frozen food pops out easily. I got it at Bed Bath and Beyond

I blend them all together in R/O water, my blender has a pulse button, so
that I can just have it
on in spurts and not puree everything (just try a small amount first till
you get the hang of it).
Then I use ice block makers (the plastic trays for ice cubes) and fill
these
up about 1/3 each cube.
