Default Usage of CYCLE and AQUA-PLUS

I'd like to hear from people who have used Hagen's water conditioners
CYCLE and AQUA-PLUS.

Does AQUA-PLUS really work?? Marketing says that:

- Makes tap water safe by eliminating chlorine and chloramine
- Neutralizes heavy metals
- Protects fish by replacing their natural protective mucous coating
- P.H.E. Pure Herbal Extract
- Contributes a positive sedating effect against stress related to
transportation, handling and introduction.

Yada yada yada ....

What about CYCLE .... CYCLE claims to contain beneficial bacteria;
nitrosomonas and nitrobacter and works together with other beneficial
strains to eliminate harmful toxins in your water ...

Yada yada yada yada ...

Love to hear from people with their comments and/or facts ...

Thanks everyone.

Jim.

I don't think cycle works...

I set up two tanks at the same time, and using ammonia to start the fishless
cycling process. Both finished at the same time. The one I used Cycle in was
a smaller tank too...

Hello Jim.
I haven't used Aqua-Plus, so I cannot comment on it.
However, I can tell you that the product "Cycle" has the wrong type of bacteria
in it and does nothing to cycle (or even help it) your tank. It does, however,
take your money.
Out of every cycling product helper out there (I think there's another called
Stress Zyme, and Bio Zyme too), none have the correct bacteria.
The only one (so far) that does is Bio Spira. However, the manufactor had to
deal with too high of a demand and supplies ran out and they had to grow more
bacteria to get it back on the market....later this year.
If you are wanting to cycle a tank without harming any fish in the process, try
fishless cycling.
