Chiller question.

I am new to the salt water world and would like to buy a chiller for my 10 gallon tank. It is already stocked with fish and coral and I have a Millennium 1000 filter. First I would like to know what good inexpensive chiller is on the market for this small aquarium and Second do I need to drill holes or purchase other items to install a chiller or is it a simple task.

So I have a suggestion - one that has worked well for me on small
GLASS aquariums (16 gallon):

The IceProbe uses a potted Peltier Chip and the power supply is loosly
equivalent to a computer power supply, but it costs an ungodly fortune
for such a weak peltier.

By your username I am guessing you run in the "technical" relm, so
this option may appeal to you.

For $37 total, I have 2 96 watt potted Peltiers plugged into an old
250 watt power supply I pulled from my original 199x Dell.

The Peltiers come with a pretty good heat sink and a 2" box fan and
through the heatsink is a spring clip. I screw a suction cup to
either side of the spring clip and suction it to the back of the tank.
The clip needs to be "padded" with a small block of billet aluminum
so that it stays taught to the tank. Smear some thermal paste on the
tank before sticking the peltier to it. Oh, and make sure you put the
correct side toward the tank! I cyano acrylate glued the cups to the
tank after they flew off for the third or forth time.

On HOT HOT days, I run the peltiers on the same timer as the lights
and rely on the heater to compensate for any overcooling (only happens
when I am not paying attention on a cool day following a hot one. I
also run a powerhead along the back of the tank facing the peltiers.
On less hot days, I just run one.

Temp stability is pretty good - 79-82 day in day out over the last
couple of years. You burn a lot of electricity if you are not paying
attention, but no damage to the tank.
