Default 2 male clowns chasing away the female? What's up??

I have 4 percula clowns in my 135 gallon tank. 2 of them paired up a
while back and have been spawning on a regular basis (about every 3
weeks). Each time they spawn (at least a dozen times so far) the male
protects the eggs and the female hangs out with the other 2 males.
Today when I came home 2 of the males were guarding the eggs and chase
the female away everytime she comes close. Is this normal or for some
reson has the male abandoned her and chose another mate? I was under
the impression that once clowns mated they stayed mated until one or
the other died? TIA

Maybe they know something you don't know yet? grin

I've got no answers for you.

I *think* I read somewhere that they are all males, one female, if they are
in groups.. if the female dies, one of the males will turn into a female.
That was a story on a news site about some research done about them not too
long ago. I will have to see if I can find it. They are odd fish at times..
my two have taken up with a patch of hairy algae...
