Default MH's Without Suplimental lighting?

Hey all,
Im getting ready to setup another tank. And as with all setups
lighting is a concern. Ive had combination of all lights in the past,
MH, VHO, PC. With this tank im going to be very limited with space.
It will most likely be a 29 30 or 40. With that said, the last time i
owned a MH setup was almost 9 years ago and the 5.5K was the latest
technology they had out. Now with different bulbs, 8.8K 10K 12K 14K
20K, etc is there any one bulb that will displace the need for PC or
vho supliments? If possible without harm to the corals, i would much
rather run just the halides (up to 2 400W vertical pendants are
perfect for my particular needs)

TIA
-Rich
