Default Prizm Skimmer top tank full

I recently purchased the Prizm skimmer.

The tank on top that is supposed to hold foam, is full of water.
To the top.

Is this normal?

I thought it should be full of foam.

Is this cause it is a new tank?

new skimmers always need a break in period, new tanks also need one, yours is still in it,
also the adjustment is probibly off, I would probibly discard that water anyways, turn the
adjuster knob to restrict water flow a bit and try to make sure the foam line is lower
than the window shaped gadget just above the o ring on the front of the skimmer

Mine works best if you turn it full on then back it down to where the water
is just barely being pulled in. The foam it takes in will settle into gunky
looking water. It doesn't usually stay in the foam *form*.

Try turning it back to where water just barely comes through. And also,
being a new tank, there is probably not anything for it to be taking out
yet.
