For those that have smelt their bottle of Strontium and know the foul smell
it has like rotting flesh. Well I dosed my tank last week and I have been noticing a bad smell in the air. The smell seems stronger in the morning when you first wake up, and the tanks downstairs smells all the time, I guess that is because downstairs is always locked up. There is a good possibility I over dosed it, but 2 days after the dosing I done a 200 litre water change. The smell the next day was still as strong. When the water had drained and the rocks were exposed the smell was gut wrenching, so I assume the rocks have absorbed most of it. No fish or corals seem effected. Only my nose. Anyone here have any experiance with this or had similar problems that would have a fix for the smell. I believe the smell is getting less over time. I collected another 350 litres of water over the weekend and will do another change as seen as I can. Although the smell is bad, the flies have been kept at bay which is interesting as I thought a smell like that would attract them. |
