I would like to move the grass back a few feet from my ponds to avoid
the hand trimming of the grass around the edging stones. Can wood mulch be used in close proximity to the ponds, or should I stick with gravel or small stones for this purpose? |

No reason wood type mulch can not be used. I used it for years until I
got tired of having to get it out of my pond when the pond overflowed or the stream came up.......so now I went to gravel and its not been a problem of it floating off and making a mess or blowing out on the water and also making a mess, I used to use the shredded cypress as it holds together good and interlocks and is very fiberous so it blew oout less, than typical pne bark and other hardwood muches did.
