Default New Spawn Try

Okay. I am now trying to get Blaze and Sweetie to spawn. I've had one time failed, due to him being a little too aggressive. Now, he's been in complete isolation, and seems a little nicer. He has blown a bubble nest, and I am thinking he is confused. I put a sty half cup in for a place to put those bubbles, and he made the nest right next to the outside............... When I mail ordered him, did he get brain damaged during shipping? Goofy fish. Hopefully, he will spawn this time.

Try a bright yellow plastic can lid. When I had a male and female betta they
always tried to spawn under it. The male would always build bubble nets so
the bubbles were under the floating yellow can lid (plastic) and he made
bubble nests under it often. I have read in betta specific books/pamphlets
that male bettas are especially attracted to the color bright yellow for
building their bubble nests under. Good luck and thanks for the updates!
Later!

Um, Tynk, can I ask you a favor? If I send you a cell phone picture
link, could you post it for me? I can't access the picture mail from
work

Okay, they finally spawned after I re-introduced them. Yay! That was the good news. The bad news is, those eggs must have tasted sooooo good, because they both ate them all. I watched her scarf them down, and then watched him eat them. He never spit them back out. I am sure of it.

:::SIGH:::

I guess I'll have to try again later....

Strange enough, I observed Blaze (my male) kinda doing that stunned thing. He would wrap her, and if she wasn't in the right position, she would swim out. Blaze would stay in the position as if he though he got it right, and either sink a little (more often) or float up. Has anyone else seen this happen?

Funny thing, he would be looking around for eggs to snack on, and Sweetie (female) would see him doing nothing. She would swim up to him and nibble his side to get him to wrap her again. Blaze would act the dumb male and was like, "Um, what?" until she rubbed her body against him. He would get the idea, and try to wrap her again.

And they really did eat all of them. I'll try again this weekend with Frisky and Blaze. Maybe she won't eat them all?

Nope, nothing happened. I'll let them all rest and see if another totally different pair will go for it. Ice and Beauty! Beauty I have spawned before, but I don't know how Ice will perform. Beauty doesn't eat the eggs, and does help put them in the nest.
