Default Rams Question

In my soon to be 29 gallon Angelfish tank, how would a pair of
Bolivian Rams coincide with a pair of German Blue Rams?

Also, I plan on having Clown Loaches as well.

I envy you for being able to keep the Blues. I tried twice but
couldn't maintain the water quality they require.

I have three Bolivians and they are absolutely gorgeous and peaceful
with my keyholes, yellow lab and tetras.

I would say yes but have no first hand experience with that exact
combination. Both Rams are peaceful in their own right.

Clowns? - don't know.

Larry,

What combination of Bolivians you have? Males vs females?

And, what size tank they're in?

I have 3 Rams in a fully planted 26g. To be honest I am not sure of
the sexes. Got them about 4 months ago and asked the LFS guy to
scoop out three. One profile says alone or in pairs is better...oops.

They are hard to sex but according to the specs I MIGHT have 2 males
and one female. Might explain the occasional little tussles-
(grabbing onto each others mouths)...don't know. But they do have
personality and are always the first to the front of the tank during
chow time.

I have bolivian rams, gold rams, angels, corys, and swordtails in a 58
gallon tanks.
I have 8 bolivian rams which I believe are 4 males and 4 females. 2 pairs
have spawned.
If you want them to spawn you might want to add some black water extract to
the water and have a ph
between 6.4-7pm and temps around 84. Thats has worked for me. Rams are only
territorial when they spawned but they willnot harm others.

I've never tried that combination, so with that in mind, if anyone asked,
I would not recommend it. The Germans are quite a bit smaller and more
'dainty'. Adult Bolivians might dominate the Germans, nullifying their
normal behaviour. This is not uncommon when mixing related species of
very different sizes.

Clowns and Angelfish are sometimes not a good mix, especially if the
Clowns are in a small tank and/or bored. It's a bit of entertainment to
nip the Angel's fins and then take off, and Clowns like their
entertainment. ymmv

Also Clowns in a 29g are a somewhat temporary setup. I have a couple now
in a 66g and they are not growing quickly, but in a smaller tank, I would
be concerned that the tank size was inhibiting their growth rate.
Angelfish also get quite large. Two in a long 32g might be ok for a
longer time, but a 29g with plants might be a little crowded (?), or get
that way relatively quickly. Again, ymmv.
