Default Mark Light Question

Hey Mark,
Would 4x35W fluorescents work on a 40-55G tank?

2 x 10,000 K
1 x 50/50
1 x Acintic

Thanks...or what would you suggest?

Default Mark Light Question

What do you plan on keeping?

FOLR, should be fine. Corals? Go with 2 - 250watt MHs.

Marc

Default Mark Light Question

This is not my reply, quoted below. As y'all know, my email address is not
hidden so you can readily see if I'm posting or not. However, I'm honored that
the troll decided to attempt to immitate me. grin

Hi BigHaig,

140w of lighting simply won't provide enough light to penetrate the depths of a
40-55g setup. It is the bare minimum, and if you decided to add more stuff to
your tank, you'll find you need more lighting later. Better to just get a good
setup now. I'd aim for 220w, which will allow you all types of creatures.

Also, I'd recommend you balance your white and blue lighting, with two 10,000K
and two Actinic.

Are you wanting to use PC lighting?

Marc

Default Mark Light Question

Hi BigHaig,

You're not bothering me. That light will work just fine, but it does seem
rather expensive to me. Then again, it is ready to go, and is nice in
appearance. That makes it worthwhile for some....

Marc
