Default red ear sliders

well i have 2 red ear sliders in my 40 gallon tank.
they are barely about 6 inches so its alright for them, but i have
one female red ear slider that is always active but the
male turtle is slow (slower than turtles).
well he walks find but i can see the difference between the 2
the female faster, male slower. And every single time i feed
the turtles the female eats more than the male turtle. The male takes
his time to bite into the carrots or so. I am thinking
the male turtle must have weak muscles and probably i should feed him
something to get stronger, but what?

thanx for ur times

Is that all you give them is carrots? Try giving him crickets that are
gutloaded and coated in calcium powder. Also give them some earthworms and
turtle pellets and small fish and shrimp pieces. Collard greens and mustard
greens and dandilion greens are all awesome to give them. Sanfransco Bay
brand frozen fish foods make a aquatic turtle diet that my turtle loves.
Check that out.

You can also try giving them a couple of raw shrimp or sliced cooked
turkey as protein suppliments. My wife has two Yellow Bellied Sliders,
a RES and a Painted Turtle who all go nuts over the shrimp. It's even
crazier when they are given earthworms. I'd aslo second the use of
dandilion greens. The gang loves 'em.
