![]() I have a 29g (US) planted tank which is doing quite well. However I have noticed that some of the plants are getting Green Algae on their leaves, especially the Java Fern. I have supplemental CO2 injected through a diffuser, and all the water parameter look good. Is this a lighting problem? All the plants are doing well and growing tremendously. I just don't understand the algae. Steve |

That was after removing as much of this unsightly sooty looking "stuff" as possible. I have no idea why it's infesting this one tank when the other 55, set up so similarly, doesn't have it. I plan to add another shop light to the tank and see if extra light helps before the plants are suffocated and die. -- Koi-Lo.... frugal ponding since 1995... Low Phosphates can cause GSA, what are your P04 readings? GDA you can reduce with water changes or UV filtering after wiping it off. A clean up crew can also work wonders, SAE or Ottos. |

What's "good"? Provide your plants with adequate NPK and lighten up on
the iron. Plant more fast-growing plants too. |
