I got in to work this morning and found that overnight, one of my tanks
bottom glass "gave out". I didnt realise what had happened right away... I had assumed that the bottom seal gave out so naturally I took everything out and was going to re-seal the tank. I was amazed when I got to the bottom and saw the tempered glass was shattered! Has this happened to anyone else before? ~Mort |

In article , says... Tempered glass under stress can be shattered by vibration, I think the culprit is low frequency. At least the examples I know of (none of which have been tanks) have been associated with things like heavy lorries going past. Oh great! What about the idiots with the 6 foot bass speakers in their cars? We've got one that goes by every night about 5pm. I had a friend whose front panael on his tank smashed after a heavy truck went past. He was watching the tank as it happened and claimed to see tiny ripples on the surface of the water just before it exploded. |

The bass bin might be able to cope, but CD and tape simply can't produce the really low frequencies. Roger Sleet Roger's Aquatic Pages http://www.sleet.plus.com |

I live too close to an Air Force base. They fly A-10's over my house every day. I think something in their comm system turns on my X10 remote control lamp. Should I be prepared for a disaster? HOW do you prepare for such a thing? |
