Default Which filter should i remove for Ammonia ?

Hi , My parrot fish seems to be doing much better , But it appears he has
fungus growing on him , i have the correct medicine , but it says in the
instructions , to remove the ammonia filter ? , which is this most likely to
be as i've looked up the filter spares for my tank (juwel rio 240) but the
filters are not named by there purpose , please could some one take a quick
look and reccomend which filter to remove so that the medince is not removed
from the tank please.

The filters are at the bottom of the list and the rio 240 uses each of the
filters that are pictured.

The filter that i take out , should i keep this in some fish tank water , so
that the filter is still usable afterwards?

Remove the carbon filter when medicating. It will remove the
medication as fast as you pour it in. A lot of aquarists don't
routinely use carbon in their filters.

The ammonia remover, also called zeolite, looks like a white crushed rocky
material. I'm not a fan of it as they don't do a amazing job and need to
be recharged monthly, but some people use it instead of pure bio-
filtration. If there isn't an easily identifyable white rocky material in
your filter media, you probably don't have any zeolite.

Remove the active carbon if you are medicating. Fresh carbon will remove
most medications from the water in a few hours. Personally, I only use
carbon if I need to take something--like meds--out of the water, after the
treatment is complete.
