Default Home Depot buckets ... safe for aquarium use?

Are those buckets that you can buy at home depot (the ones that have the HD
logo on the outside, I think they are 5G or so) safe for use with aquariums
(ie: water change, etc.). Also does anyone now of a source for slightly
smaller buckets/containers? A 5G might be a little too big to fit under my
tank ... a 3-4G would probably be ok.

Thanks,
Harry
