Hyposalinity Question

I have a Fish Only-Live Rock 120 gal aquarium which only one of my
tangs show signs of white spots. 3 weeks ago I started to lower the
Salinity to 1.009.

After carfully lowering the salinity to 1.009 so that there was no
shock to the fish, I got it lowered to 1.009. Now that the salinity
has been lowered for two weeks it looked as if the ich problem was on
the road to recovery, untill today I noticed even more white spots.
Has anyone ever used this treatment? I know it should take 6-8 weeks
but why all of a sudden another out break? I thought I was on the
right road to this type of treatment. What can I expect next?

When my tomato clown had ich, I raised the water temp to 85deg f and the
white spots cleared in 4 days. The higher temp speeds up the lifecycle of
the parasite I read somewhere. hth.

there are a number of reasons, do you have ammonia/nitrite how about temp as posted
increasing temp moves the path along, how alive was your live rock most cool things wont
live at 1.009 you might have die off from that. also 2 weeks is about the right time for
the first batch of cysts to come alive.

At first I raised the temp to 82-83, but after days of high temp I
found there was no improvment- however the water got cloudy. After no
changes I then decided to got to plan B-Hyposalinity.

I lost my Blue Tang-not due to the Ichbut this is the fish that was
infected. No other fish show anysigns of ich so what I'm going to do
is keep the salinity @ 1.009 for another 2 weeks to be sure there is
no out breaks teh I will graduallu raise the salinity back to normal
1.023- 1.025

It need to run the full course. An out break is possible, you can see the same even with
cooper. And yes, many have used this treatment
