phos zorb

I added a pouch of this stuff to remove my phosphates but it's reached a
level of 01.-0.25 ppm but wont go any lower. the pouch says that it will do
for a period of 6-8 weeks but mine is only in for 2 weeks. I even added
another couple of Hagen nitrite/nitrate/phosphate remover pouches (3) and
still the phosphates are the same level.
also my lovely bright florescent green mushrooms are turning brown is this
not helped by the phosphates and brown algae. are there any additives that
will help them recover their former glory.
