Default browning plant tips

Hi,

I have a number of large Amazon swords and all of their tips are going
brown. Is it possible to "prune" these away & the plant will be OK or will
it harm the plant? I plan to add some plant food to the tank as I guess the
browning is a sign of some deficiency.

Thanks,

Sky.

Not sure if you can cut the leaves the way you are suggesting - doesn't
sound like a great idea to me! You need to add Plant food for Iron &
Potassium & also some Trace Elements would be a good idea. If you don't have
CO2 then consider something like the Hagen thing for about £15-£20. It won't
add a lot but even a bit will help a lot .

You can remove decaying leaves from sword plants w/o to much trouble. The
real questions is why are the leaves turn brown? Low CO2, lack of light or
iron compounds? Do some research into your plant type and tank setup...
