I have a 45 gal tank:
66% surface planted w/ cabomba & grass 3 small pieces (piled) of green shale very large piece of driftwood (resin coated) Flourite substrate Stock: Silver tipped tetras 1 Blue ram 2 Gouramis Will be soon getting 3 Angels Some time in the future plan to get a discus Water tends to be soft (1-3 GH/KH), and acidic (6.0PH) Occasionally see small amounts of algae form on glass. I was considering getting a gold nugget pleco. There is limited surface area in my tank; it is mostly in front of, under and behind the driftwood. It makes up between 2 and 3 square feet. Would a gold nugget have a comfortable home in my tank? Would he require more surface area? Would he compete with the gouramis or blue ram? In particular the ram likes to spend 50 % of his time under the driftwood, otherwise he stays at the bottom in the cabomba "forest" Seeing a gold nugget orignally sparked my interest in aquaria six months ago, but I'll only get one if he'll be happy and healthy in my tank. Advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Joe |
