Default Anyone know of a light controller with a built-in timer ?

Hello,

Just about to buy lighting units for a new tank and wondered if anyone
makes one with a built-in timer. I have previously used an external
timer, but I would like to try and stagger the lights coming on and off,
and that would mean a separate timer for each light unit.

Don't know if anyone makes one with a timer built-in. Seems so obvious
that someone must have thought about it. Any info greatly appreciated.

TIA

Try electronic timers. Since they do not have gear weels they
have no problems like you described. $19.99 at Home Depot.

It would make the light fixture too expensive in comparison
to mass-produced general purpose timers available at HD.

What problem ? The only problem I described was wanting to stagger the
lighting coming on and off and needing a separate time switch for each
unit. That problem would not be solved by an electronic timer any more
than a mechanical one. The only solution AFAICS would be a unit with a
built in timer, which is unlikely as you point out below ...

Fair comment. Just wondered. Thanx
