Hello,
Just about to buy lighting units for a new tank and wondered if anyone makes one with a built-in timer. I have previously used an external timer, but I would like to try and stagger the lights coming on and off, and that would mean a separate timer for each light unit. Don't know if anyone makes one with a timer built-in. Seems so obvious that someone must have thought about it. Any info greatly appreciated. TIA -- Alan Silver |

Since they do not have gear weels they have no problems like you described. $19.99 at Home Depot. Don't know if anyone makes one with a timer built-in. Seems so obvious that someone must have thought about it. Any info greatly appreciated. It would make the light fixture too expensive in comparison to mass-produced general purpose timers available at HD. |

Since they do not have gear weels they have no problems like you described. $19.99 at Home Depot. What problem ? The only problem I described was wanting to stagger the lighting coming on and off and needing a separate time switch for each unit. That problem would not be solved by an electronic timer any more than a mechanical one. The only solution AFAICS would be a unit with a built in timer, which is unlikely as you point out below ...
