Default Eheim Ecco Problem - Need Urgent Help!

Thanks for your advice. Is this a common problem with Eheim canisters?

Any problem at all is not common with Eheims. And not all models of
Eheim are necessarily recommended by the manufacturer to have the
seals greased (though it doesn't mean you can't try it if you want.)
Unless there's a nick in the seal or something, with the way this
model engages by itself, I can't see how it's a problem with the seal.

It seems to me that it's possible there's a crack in the casing
somewhere where the water travels up inside the top. Maybe around the
impeller? Take a look, because it could be shipping damage. Water is
not supposed to come out from inside the motor! If you'd bought it
used, I'd say open it up (that's a clip for the motor cover you have
marked,) and see whether it's just in around the clip or actually
coming up in the motor, but don't open it if it's new, because you'll
probably void your warranty.

If you can't locate the source of the leak and greasing the seal
doesn't help, then you should contact the place you bought it from
(online I'm guessing?) They should send you another one and split the
shipping costs. If they're tools and won't help, then the
manufacturer will always have a warranty on a new product and should
exchange it for you. I recommend you call them on the phone. They
are not responsive at the US website, and the cool guys on the good
German website don't speak too much english. Or if you're in the UK,
the UK version is he

Sorry about the problem! I don't work for them, but I've recommended
to probably hundreds of people over the years that they buy this
brand, and I've never once heard of a problem before this. So
hopefully it's just something with the setup or shipping damage, and
not anything that came out of the factory this way. :x Eheim's
usually top-quality stuff...

See ya,

Kristen
