I have a 30 gallon tank already quite (1+ yr) established and I set my 10 G
back up recently. The gravel, plants (fake), and filter are new and about 6 G of the water is new. I have 3 decorations from the established tank (with algae) in there and the rest of the water came from the 30 G. I just put a Serpae tetra in there - he's the last of the tetras from the big tank - question is, with the established water/bacteria, etc. that's already in the tank, how many fish would be safe to add..? (i.e. will the water still be sensative to ammonia spike?) I was thinking of maybe a few cories or tetras but I don't want to stress the fish or the tank yet. while the water is 'established' the necessary bacteria needs to be
'established' in the filter and on all surfaces of the tank. NetMax says that it grows and doubles every 24hrs, so maybe a week after you've set it up, you can slowly, add 1 or 2 fish at a time. with each addition, your filter bacteria will have to grow to accomodate the extra load. just take your time, no hurry.... -- RedForeman ©® "MarAzul" wrote in message news:S3oPb.40906$Ar1.25216@fed1read04...
