Hi, I have a 29 gallon freshwater tank. This tank has been functioning
for about 3 months. In this tank, I have: 1 Dwarf Gourami, 1 Pearl Gourami, 1 snake-skin gourami, 4 cory cats, 1 pleco, 1 platinum gourami, 1 boosmani rainbowfish, and 4 angelfish. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should add? The only problem is that some of these fish have a tendency to kill of new tank mates. They have so far killed of: 1 dwarf gourami, 2 paradise fish, 1 boosmani raibowfish, almost killed 1 snake-skin gourami and they also almost killed 1 platinum gourami. Any advice what-so-ever would be greatly appriciated. Evan Davis |

Evan Davis I would recommend not adding any more fish, going solely by the 1" per gallon rule, you're close to, or over the line, even if the pleco is still small, and it's not going to stay that way. What kind of filtration do you have? I have heard horror stories about tanks with multiple gourami, but I have little exp with them, (I own a single pink kisser) so I'll leave that to someone else. Do keep in mind that angels are cichlids, and prone to cichlid behavior, tankmates for these fish must be chose carefully. As it is, I would invest some time monitoring the tank, identify the troublemakers and move fish accordingly. Sometimes moving decor around with "reset" the territorial tendancies of fish, but in a tank that small, there's not much territory to fight over. -- billy -- Need tech help? news://news.winextra.com |

Evan Davis you're done... get rid of your gouramis/angels maybe you could add something, but they are limited by your stocking preferences, thus the angels.... -- RedForeman ©® |
