a question for the group----
I am moving from North Carolina to California and am moving my three tanks. I am trading all of the fish to the LFS for food etc. and moving the tanks dry (of course). The question is in regard to the filters should I open them here and try to dry them out? Should I keep water in them? It will probably be at least 3 to 4 weeks before I get time to set everything back up and get more stock. any input is appreciated. thanks Brad |

There is no way to keep their bacterial cultures alive for that long without running them and feeding the cultures........ -- Koi-Lo.... frugal ponding since 1995... URBANFLAGE write,

For some reason, your next cycle will only take half the time if you don't chemically clean your filter media......... Frank |

If you're moving to one of the big cities, San Diego, Los Angeles, and San Francisco all have aquarium societies where you can get both filter bacteria and interesting livestock. -- Put the word aquaria in the subject to reply.
