sound like your talking about Carol.
Precision wrote: "thisbediscream" wrote in message t... Hello. I understand that some of you out there have had bad experiences with JW in the past. I can understand the anger towards the ones that caused you pain. I would never tell you how to feel about that. But my question is this..... Why try to put down an entire religion because a few of them are bad? If you were abused mentally or physically, why not go after the ones that actually did the crime. If I were going to convict an entire religion for the sins of a few, NOONE would be safe. I have yet to see any religion that doesn't have flaws. But, what I do see more often than anything else, are people who claim to have been involved in the organization, were wronged in some way, and now are on a mission: The Downfall Of JW. Personally, I really don't care what religion another person is. I have my beliefs, you have yours. Let's just leave it at that. There are things that the JW believe that make perfect sense to me, while others confuse me. I understand the reasoning for not celebrating Christmas and birthdays. I understand why they don't believe in the trinity. I don't understand the whole blood transfusion thing, but hey! If that's what they want to believe, More power to em! This is the United States Of America. A country built on FREEDOM OF RELIGION. As far as I know, I haven't heard of any JW going out and killing people just because they don't believe the same way (Catholics have done this, Muslims have done this... heck, just about every other religion has done this... IN THE NAME OF Jesus no less!). I'm sure other religions have avoided "Holy Crusades", but we aren't talking about them, are we. I am not a JW. So don't go flaming me saying, "you stupid sheep!" or whatever. I have my opinion, and would love to hear yours. That's the only great thing about this country. They can't shoot me for having my own opinion.... can they? Your concerns have deeply troubled me since I started reading and posting to this newsgroup almost 2 years ago. I've come to the conclusion this newsgroup is a magnet for those seriously confused, the disenfranchised, sociopaths, individuals suffering multiple personality disorder (MPD) and most tragically, those who express contempt and hatred for God. Ironically, you will find out over time that individuals claiming they are "atheists" actually have some serious anger against God and the Bible, and quote events in the Hebrew scriptures out of context to paint an image of God that is grossly negative. One hostile and angry woman on this newsgroup calls God a "monster" and has a penchant for quoting scriptures referring to the old law and war grossly out of context. She claims to be an atheist but it is obvious she is morbidly terrified of God. You get a sense in reading her posts that slander God that she is trying to convince herself that her choice to reject God's kingdom and His righteousness is the right choice by making similar accusations against God that Satan originally made. I've learned through this newsgroup that many claiming they are "atheists" are really believers in God who rejected the values of the Bible, from an ecologically clean world filled with an abundance of peace to everlasting life in a world where everyone loves one another. It is so hard to imagine anyone NOT wanting this kind of world but these individuals, like Esau who sold his birthright for a bowl of lentil stew, have thrown it all away. And now, they can only sleep at night by trying to convince themselves -- through the guise of trying to convince others that God is a "monster" and so forth -- that one day ceasing to exist by rejecting life is better than living in a world they pretend will be "totalitarian". In fact, they know it will be a beautiful world but for some reason they don't want to give up the fleeting pleasures of this world, amongst which the deadly and morbid habit of smoking cigarettes and other vices consume their decaying flesh. I hate to paint such a grim picture of this place, and I would love to be proven wrong! I love these people even though they will read such a claim with derision, and dearly want them to be my neighbors in the near and distant future. Perhaps Jesus Christ will have mercy on them, and cause something to happen in their lives to shake them to their senses, and make them realize God can become their friend and someone they dearly love not their enemy. That continues to be my wish.
