Default yellow lab in a community tank?

All-

Saw some Labidochromis caeruleus at one of the LFS and really liked
them. Figured they were African, so I couldn't put them in my 55 gal
community tank. Got home and started checking them out on the net. It
seems that people have kept them in community tanks but I am finding
mixed information. Has anyone actually kept these fish in a non-African
community tank? My pH is on the low end for the lab (7.5) and my water
is not very hard. What kind of problems could I expect? Tank has
platys, clown loaches, corys, tetras and a betta.

Thanks
kietz
