Default guppy fry

I have 4 guppy fry in a breeding trap to keep them from being eaten. How
big do they have to be before it's safe to let them loose with the adults?
Also, when do they start to show their colours. These ones are about 1 week
old and still pretty tiny. Any recommended websites for guppy care?

TIA,

Jacqui

I have a 130 litre aquarium where most of my guppies and molly's survive.
One of the reasons for this, is that there are plenty of places for the fry
to hide in, including a fairly dense patch of Java Moss anchored to a piece
of bogwood. I wouldn't move them to my 400 litre for about two to three
months as they would almost certainly get eaten by larger fish.

Guppy fry will start showing some colors at 4-6 weeks, and at about 6-9
weeks, you can sex them... the females will have the triangle anal fin,
while the males will develop their gomopodium(sp) and you'll surely see that
and be able to tell..

I used a mix of ground flake food, ground cichlid staple, and frequent water
changes, and then I gave 90% of what I had to friends, kids, others... of
course I keep the prettiest ones, and get first pick of their babies to help
produce better herds....
