Default Silicone Sealant

I have a tube of silicone rubber sealant from radio shack, under the archer
brand name. Is this silicone aquarium safe? I know you can buy specific
aquarium silicone, but since I have this, I want to know if it can be used.

If it is 100% pure silicone, it probably is. But even then not all safe
silicones are created equal. I have used CRL silicone before and found
it hard to work with and it also cure way to fast, often leaving small
pockets of air where leaks can occur.
I recommend Dow Corning or GE.

2. Silica
3. Polydimethylsiloxane

Do these ingredients make up pure silicone?

Yes.

Methyltriacetoxysilane- is one of the main ingredients of silicone
sealent that gives off the vinegar smell.

Silica- is another raw ingredient

Polydimethylsiloxane- also known as PDMS is a silicon-based organic
polymer, and is particularly known for its flow properties. PDMS acts
like a viscous liquid, similar to honey. PDMS is also the primary
component in Silly Putty.

Most silicone - unless specified "suitable for aquariums"... is not
designed to be under constant submersion ....Over time it will break
down and leaks will develop.
This is especially important if in sal****er set-up...
I would not use anything that does not say "suitable for aquariums" ...
