Ok, so I went out an purchased the canister filter of my dreams.
Bought it on Ebay actually. The problem is that I've never had a canister filter and don't know exactly what to do with it. I need media for filtration but what do I buy? It should be here about Wednesday or so and I'd liek to have everything I'll need handy so I can set it up right away. Sarah |

Floss, ceramic tubes, etc.... I've only been using a canister filter for a few months, I'm also using what was supplied... After some debate, I've decided to switch over time to a ceramic media that allows for more surface area.... but not yet... Sarah You can get media for the Eheim he http://petsolutions.com/search.asp?t=ss&ss=eheim+media or http://www.thatpetplace.com/MainPro/shopay00.aspx Both of these places have a good reputation. there are probably others as well. -- - Charles - -does not play well with others |

Big Al's sells Eheim filter media. As for non-pad media you can use Hagen,
Eheim or any other brand. They main thing is that the media provides a larger surface area for a bacterial colony to propagate. If you're really not certain, then give Eheim a call or email. I've found their post-sale service to be quite excellent. "Sarah" wrote in message om... Ok, so I went out an purchased the canister filter of my dreams. Bought it on Ebay actually.
